WHAT I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT IN MY PROFESSIONAL LIFE

I enjoy delivering beautifully designed experiences in a fast-paced, user-centric environment. Crossing back and forth between UX and graphic design, I build an audience online and in print and engage with followers effectively. My passion for creating beautiful aesthetics and desire to help others develop an accurate representation of their brand, as well as a rewarding experience for clients, has led me to the field of design.
I am always striving to learn new things and look forward to working with people I can learn from and teach something to. I enjoy continuing my education with classes and workshops that feature the newest technology and trends. Keeping one's education up to date is an essential component to growing within a career. I have been influenced by, and look up to, many designers, including Jessica Walsh, Stefan Sagmeister, Paula Scher, and David Carson. While part of me enjoys creating symmetrical, formal designs, I also find fulfillment when creating the bold and unexpected. When it arises, I take the opportunity to combine the two.
In 2020 I helped launch Galvanized Creative, a marketing team focused on helping local home service companies gain authority within the community and increasing lead generation. My role has been to onboard clients, manage clients and accounts, put together a team that can provide the services necessary to help our clients grow, and to complete the projects' design, marketing, and SEO aspects.
I worked remotely with WhoWhatWhy, a nonprofit forensic journalism organization, since early 2017 as an in-house visual designer and then as associate art director. In my time there, I worked closely with a team of professionals that spanned the organization; web developers, copywriters, creative directors, image editors, marketing strategists, and social media specialists. I created a wide range of products for WhoWhatWhy, including logo updates, social media graphics and promotions, web page design, book cover and press kit, email campaign templates and design, newsletter design, marketing projects including stickers, bags, and brochures, as well as many more.
Freelance design has kept me busy for the last six years, as well. I have completed branding projects, including logos, business cards, stationery, merchandise, and running professional Facebook and Instagram pages and campaigns.
WHAT I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT IN MY PERSONAL LIFE

A large portion of my time outside of my career is spent homeschooling my three sons. While striving to teach them the most important skills and information, I have found an exciting and fulfilling side project, designing our own curriculum. With their guidance, we have started building a great base for what many could use to guide their children's education for years to come.
As a naturally creative individual, I have spent my entire life--ever since I could hold a crayon--drawing, painting and designing. Recently, I have been passionately enjoying painting in my free time. Home renovation, design, and decor have also become enthusiastic side projects, as I live in a 170-year-old home that always needs some more tender, loving care. Located in Michigan, I am surrounded by beautiful lakes and enjoy spending tons of time in the outdoors with my family and friends.
