Overview
WhoWhatWhy is a nonprofit organization that focuses on exploring important issues by utilizing forensic journalism. Using strong images to capture the audiences attention WhoWhatWhy communicates a heavy message though graphics. WhoWhatWhy featured this series of articles discussing Russian involvement in the United States' government and the people, and situations, surrounding it. One of the main challenges I faced during this project was creating concepts that are perceived as new and fresh but simultaneously recognizable and emotion-inducing.
Solution
I created these pieces in vein of retro political posters in order to achieve a bold, new look that will stand out amongst competitors. The combination of recognizable, clear graphics communicates a strong message to the audience.

Workflow
Analysis > Research > Mock-up > Design > Submit for Approval > Refresh > Live
Mood Board
During research, I found many great example to draw from, primarily vintage political posters. I was drawn to the strong imagery and bold typeface. The color schemes also lent themselves very easily to WhoWhatWhy's already established color palette of red, black, and grey.
